We ranked them based on the number of parks, romantic restaurants, and date activities, such as cinemas, museums, art galleries, bowling alleys, mini golf, and escape rooms.

According to our findings, Tower Hamlets has been revealed as the most romantic borough in London. The borough is home to 89 romantic restaurants and is surrounded by 62 parks, allowing loved-up couples to enjoy an intimate meal followed by a wholesome stroll. Tower Hamlets has an impressive 328 date activities, including bowling, mini golf, and escape rooms, ideal for those seeking a playful date. This brings Tower Hamlets’ score to an impressive 80 out of 87, landing it the top spot among London’s most romantic boroughs. 

Hackney follows closely behind, scoring 79 out of 87. There are 93 parks in and around the borough and 86 romantic restaurants, leaving loved-up locals and visitors spoilt for choice. As the second most romantic borough in London, Hackney has plenty to offer when it comes to spending quality time with someone special, with an impressive 315 date activities across the borough. 

Wandsworth secures third place within our romantic borough index. With a score of 73 out of 87, this borough is among the go-to locations for celebrating love. Whether it’s a first date or one of many, the borough offers the perfect setting for romance with 80 charming restaurants, 30 scenic parks, and 124 cultural and leisurely date activities.

Lambeth comes in fourth place, scoring 72 out of 87. The borough is nestled between 40 parks and has a wide selection of romantic restaurants (59), offering couples a slow and relaxed day with plenty of romantic options. Couples can finish the day at one of the borough’s 114 date activities; opt for a cultural afternoon visiting a museum or art gallery, or embrace the relationship’s playful side with mini golf.  

Securing a spot among London’s five most romantic boroughs, Westminster scores 70 out of 87. The borough is surrounded by an impressive 115 parks, offering couples plenty of scenic spots for romantic walks.  Westminster also has the most amount of date activities, allowing couples to immerse themselves in cultural or leisurely afternoons before dining out in one of the borough’s 25 romantic restaurants.  

Islington is revealed as the sixth most romantic borough, scoring 61 out of 87. The borough is near the most parks (137) and the most date activities (421) perfect for outdoorsy and active couples. Islington also has 10 romantic restaurants for couples to choose from. Explore the borough’s vibrant cultural scene and enjoy its numerous independent shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues. Islington’s proximity to university campuses also makes it a suitable option for smitten students this Valentine’s Day. Next up, scoring 58 out of 87, is Richmond upon Thames, London’s seventh most romantic borough. According to our findings, Ealing is in eighth place, scoring 57 out of 87. Ealing is among the boroughs with the most romantic restaurants (73) offering couples plenty of intimate dining spots. For those seeking a more active outing, venture into the borough’s nearby date activities (18), such as bowling or mini golf. 

Haringey secures ninth place within our romantic boroughs index, scoring 56 out of 87. With 85 romantic restaurants, nearby parks, and date activities, the borough has a wide selection of date-worthy locations for old or new love to blossom. 

Rounding up the 10 most romantic boroughs in London is Lewisham. The borough receives a 50 out of 87 score thanks to its 95 nearby parks and date activities, including museums, art galleries, bowling, and romantic restaurants. This provides couples with plenty of options for the ultimate date. 

Methodology

The Stay Club analysed data from Yelp and TheFork to uncover London’s most romantic boroughs. They examined three key factors: the number of parks, romantic restaurants, and date activities, which included cinemas, museums, art galleries, mini golf, bowling, and escape rooms, in or within five miles of each borough. 

Each borough was assigned a score based on its total across these metrics, and the final rankings were determined by the overall scores, with higher totals indicating greater romantic appeal.
