North West London Colleges & Universities

North West London is an interesting part of the city, with multiple educational institutions set up in the area. From business degrees to vocational training, there is a variety of colleges and universities in North West London, that have some famous alumni names to make a note of! This guide will provide insight into some of these institutions and give students some pointers on what each offers, as well as which accommodation options are better suited to them.

College of North West London

The College of North West London has a long history that goes all the way back to the 19th century. That was when Willesden Polytechnic, as it was called at the time, was created in Kilburn. In 1934, the Willesden College of Technology was set up on Dudden Hill Lane. However, the College of North West London wasn’t established until 1991. Today, it has three campuses. They are located in Willesden, Wembley Park and King’s Cross. CNWL is considered a further education college.

The College of North West London’s Willesden campus is a five-minute walk from Dollis Hill or Neasden tube stations. These are on the Jubilee line and the nearby area offers multiple bus routes.

The college has 24 course areas in further education with a variety of qualifications. Some popular options are BTEC, A levels preparation and GCSE. The college’s achievement rates have risen significantly in the past two years, while student satisfaction ratings have shown a positive experience. This makes for a North West London college with a course list that is sure to grab your attention.

The Stay Club Willesden is a 30-minute walk from the college’s Willesden campus. It is also connected via two bus routes which make the journey in about 15 minutes. The Wembley Park campus is a 25-minute bus ride away too.

ESCP Business School

With campuses in Paris, Berlin, Madrid, Turin and Warsaw, ESCP Business School has a global reputation. It is also considered the world’s oldest business school. ESCP is a European school of management, the history of which can be traced back to the beginning of the 19th century, in France. ESCP has also been recognised by the Financial Times, as it was included in the European Business School Rankings of 2019.

There are many programmes available, ranging from full-time to part-time courses and online programmes. There is also the Executive Education segment, which includes certificates and short programmes alongside other masters, MBA and online options.

The London campus is located in the North West of London, specifically West Hampstead. The area is a short commute from our Kentish Town accommodation. This means students are able to choose to live between two areas. Either in a residential and interesting part of Central London, where they will be surrounded by cool areas such as West Hampstead, Camden and more. Or, the other option is in a modern neighbourhood, which is well connected with Central London.

West London College

The West London College is considered a further and higher education college, with five campuses across the city. The college offers a variety of courses, from entry level to postgraduate education. It supports students in their educational endeavours across a wide variety of programmes and certifications.

The college’s five campuses are specialised in a different field. For example, the Ealing Green College is that of Creative Media and Applied Science, and there are also the Hammersmith and Fulham, Park Royal and others with a diverse list of courses and trainings. The college also offers professional courses, distance learning options as well as apprenticeships and ESOL.

Ealing Green College is a short commute from The Stay Club Willesden. Students can get there in under 30 minutes. The same applies for the Park Royal College which is a convenient 10-minute bus ride.
